WOVEN BASKET MATERIAL
Abaca, musa textillis, a close relative of the banana plant. Harvesting abaca is labor-intensive. Each stalk must be cut into strips, which are then usually scraped by hand to remove the pulp. The long white fibers are then washed and sun dried. Abaca fiber is strong, durable, biodegradable and eco-friendly.
